FAQ
What is SuperLooper
What is SuperLooper?
SuperLooper is a lending library that offers gently used baby clothes passed down from families who wish to extend the life of their outgrown items. Instead of owning baby clothes, our community of parents chooses to rent and later return them, allowing others to cherish them and continue the loop. As a non-profit organisation, our mission is to make consuming baby clothes more affordable, practical, and environmentally friendly for you. Keeping clothes in the loop, and out of the attic or landfill is the smart and sustainable way to dress your baby. Whether you rent from us or not, you can join the SuperLooping community by consciously clearing out your closets and donating your baby's outgrown clothes for others to benefit from and enjoy. Learn more on the Donate Clothes and Return & Earn pages of our website.
What age range are the clothes in the SuperLoop for?
Our preloved baby clothes are mainly 0-3 years, but we do also have some lovely items for older siblings up to 7 years of age.
What are Loops?
Loops are the SuperLooper spending currency.
Depending on the subscription plan you pick, you are given 35 or 40 Loops to spend each time you order.
Because the clothes in our library are secondhand they will be in various conditions of wear.
We split our clothes into three categories and give them relevant Loop values to reflect their condition.
1 Loop - General garments in Playtime condition for messy play (excluding outerwear)
2 Loops - General garments in Everyday condition, and outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Playtime condition
3 Loops -General garments in Smartypants condition and outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Everyday condition
4 Loops - Outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Smartypants condition
Playtime - slightly worn condition, perfect for messy play!
Everyday - clothes in good condition, great to wear any time.
Smartypants - nearly new condition, organic and higher-end brands.
How much does it cost to rent clothes from the SuperLoop?
We offer two subscription plans: 'My Choice' or ‘Choose For Me’.
Both subscriptions have the same price but you get more Loops allowance to spend with the 'My Choice' than the curated 'Choose For Me' service.
You can try either out for just £15 for one month’s rental.
Thereafter your monthly fee will depend on which payment schedule you opt for:
Payments every 1 month are £30pm
Payments every 6 or 12 months £25pm
How do I donate clothes to the SuperLoop?
We can’t create the SuperLoop without your help, we're in this together:)
If you have baby clothes in good condition (the kind you’d pass on to your best friend), please contact us via our ‘Donate’ page and we'll send instructions about how to send us your clothes postage-free!
What is Return & Earn?
Our Return & Earn scheme is a great way for you to earn generous discounts on your next spend with your favourite brands.
Have you got outgrown clothes from Little Green Radicals, Toby Tiger, Lucy & Sam and Soxsies? Why not send them to us so we can make sure they're loved by other families!
None of the hassle of re-selling. Go to the Return & Earn page for more information.

Subscription Plans
What’s the difference between My Choice and Choose For Me plans?
With ‘My Choice’ you choose your own clothes by browsing our clothing library.
With ‘Choose For Me’ we make it super easy and convenient by curating a selection based on your style preferences and clothing item requirements.
How does the ‘My Choice' plan work?
All the clothes in the library carry a loop value.
The loop value reflects the type of garment (e.g. dress, jumper, trousers) and its condition (e.g. very good, good, playtime).
Browse our library and choose whatever clothes you like to the value of 40 loops.
You’ll be able to order around 14 to up to 40 garments depending on the type and condition of each item.
Your order delivery fees are included in your plan.
You can return and swap your order, postage-free, after 2+ months.
When you need to swap, mark the items you want to return (hang on to any you want to keep for a while longer) and then you will be able to choose your new order with amount of Loops left in your allowance.
Your swap will arrive before you dispatch the return order so you’ll always have a good supply of clothes.
We encourage you to add any of your baby’s other outgrown, good-condition clothes to the returns box so they can be shared with other families - this is what makes the world of SuperLooping go round :)
How does the 'Choose for Me' plan work?
All the clothes in the library carry a loop value.
The loop value reflects the type of garment (e.g. dress, jumper, trousers) and its condition (e.g. very good, good, playtime).
Simply complete our quiz so we can curate your selection based on your style preferences and types of garments you require to the value of 35 loops.
eg: style preferences: sporty look, bright colours, stripes, no flowers.
eg: types of garments: T-shirts, shorts, jacket, no leggings.
The quiz also tells us whether you prefer mainly, very good, good or playtime condition clothes or a mixture of all.
You’ll be able to order around 12 to up to 35 garments depending on the type and condition of each item.
Your order delivery fees are included in your plan.
You can return and swap your order, postage-free, after 2+ months.
When you need to swap, notify us and you’ll receive a new short quiz to tell us the types of garments you require in your next order.
Your swap will arrive before you dispatch the return order so you’ll always have a good supply of clothes.
If you want to hang on to some items you can do a like-for-like swap when the new order arrives and before you dispatch the return order.
We encourage you to add any of your baby’s other outgrown, good-condition clothes to the returns box so they can be shared with other families - this is what makes the world of SuperLooping go round :)
How many items of clothing do I get with my membership?

‘My Choice'
You’ll get 14-40 garments depending on the type and condition of each item.
‘Choose for Me’
You’ll get 12 - 35 garments depending on the type and condition of each item.
What if I want more than 30 or 40 Loops worth of clothing in my order?

The Clothes
What sort of clothes are in the SuperLoop?
At SuperLooper, we believe that second hand is certainly NOT second best. All clothes deserve a chance to be loved and worn again. We have items in all garment categories from amazing eco brands like Little Green Radicals, Toby Tiger and Lucy & Sam, but we won’t turn away lesser-known brands or even supermarket-own-brand clothes if they are designed well and are in good condition. Our mission is to reduce waste and keep clothes in circulation for as long as possible and whilst these clothes may not be as long-lasting as our favourite brands, we believe they still have value and should be used to their full potential.
Where does the clothing in the SuperLooper Library come from?
The SuperLooper clothing library holds outgrown garments from lovely parents who, like you, want to keep their fave items in circulation for as long as possible.
We’re also working in partnership with our amazing Brand Partners who donate their overstock items and samples as part of their sustainability policies.
Some brands also offer rewards and money-off vouchers for customers who send in their outgrown clothes to the SuperLoop. See our Return & Earn page for more info.
How do I know what condition the preloved clothes are in?
The clothes in our library are pre-loved and have been donated with a loop-hug by parents who feel happy because their lovely things are being shared with families who, like them, want to reduce waste.
We split our clothes into three categories and give them relevant Loop values to reflect their condition.
Playtime - slightly worn condition, perfect for messy play!
Everyday - clothes in good condition, great to wear any time.
Smartypants - nearly new condition, organic and higher end brands.
1 Loop - General garments in Playtime condition for messy play (excluding outerwear)
2 Loops - General garments in Everyday condition, and outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Playtime condition
3 Loops -General garments in Smartypants condition and outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Everyday condition
4 Loops - Outerwear (snowsuits etc) in Smartypants condition
What is in the Lucky Loops box?
One of the SuperLooper subscription perks is having access to the Lucky Loops Box which is full of useful stuff like shoes, swimwear, socks, hats, mitts, bibs and other accessories which you can borrow FREE of charge (subject to availability).
Simply ask for up to 6 items you need to be added to your order and if we have what you need, it’s yours to use for as long as you want.
How should I care for the clothes?
Prolonging the life of your clothing has the biggest, most positive impact that you can have on the environment when it comes to textiles.
Machine washing clothes in general isn’t great for the environment, but because baby clothes need a LOT of laundry action, it’s good to get into some good habits.
- Try to wash stains as soon as they happen – especially banana stains, they’re the worst!!!
- Get familiar with wash symbols – they’re there to help us keep our clothes in good condition.
- Wash at 30 on gentler cycles. Washing at cooler temperatures can help clothes last longer, save money on electricity and reduce micro-fibre release.
- Always let your clothes air-dry where possible.
- Tumble dryers make your clothes shrink, fade and wear faster and increase the shedding of micro-fibres. Of course they’re handy, but they really are an environmental no-no!
Is it hygienic to rent baby clothes?
Whilst our clothes have been pre-loved, strict quality control checks are made before any item is sent out to make sure your clothes are clean, fresh and ready to wear. Before clothes arrive with you, they have been thoroughly cleaned and any small repairs made.
Multipacks
What do I get in a Multipack?
Basic items come in multipacks @ 2 Loops per pack.
Bodysuits/vests - 5 items per pack
Sleepsuits/PJs - 3 items per pack
Onesies - 3 items per pack (a mix of babygrows, rompers or playsuits)
Bottoms - 3 items per pack (a mix of leggings and jersey shorts or bloomers)
T-shirts - 3 items per pack
What do I get in a Newborn Multipack?
The newborn pack contains over 30 items covering sizes from newborn to 0-3 months so you’ll be sorted for clothes for the first few months!
This includes a mixture of Sleepsuits, Short and Long Sleeved Bodysuits, Rompers/Babygrows, T-Shirts, Leggings, Sleepbags, Jackets/Cardis, Blankets, Socks, Mitts, Bibs, Hats, Muslins and more!
We curate the pack based on your responses in our style preferences quiz. So you'll get a selection thats suited to your personal style and needs.
This is worth 20 loops so you'll still have 20 more loops to spend on extra items like dungarees, dresses, trousers, pramsuits etc.
Sustainability
Is renting really better for the environment?
As babies grow so fast lots of their clothes are only worn a handful of times before they head to the back of the cupboard … or worse, to the landfill or incinerator!
90% of carbon emissions are emitted at the first production stage of a garment so an item needs to be worn a lot to balance this out, and with fast-growing babies, this simply isn’t a possibility!
Renting an item, using it for just as long as you need, then returning it to be worn again has a better environmental impact than purchasing, owning then storing or throwing away a similar new item.
- Our planet is over-capacity in terms of waste and consumerism. We have enough clothing on the planet right now to clothe the next six generations of the human race.
- Baby clothes and childrenswear in particular represent a disproportionate amount of the thousands of tonnes of clothing in landfills because children quickly outgrow their clothing, typically moving up seven sizes in their first two years.
- As well as the high cost and limited lifespan, mass production of garments places huge pressure on the environment through waste, water consumption and carbon emissions.
- There are a staggering 183 million pieces of outgrown baby clothing stored in UK homes, that’s enough to provide 250 items for every UK baby born each year
- 7 in 10 parents have outgrown baby clothing stored away that they don’t use
- 1 in 3 parents bin old baby clothing because they don’t know what else to do with it
We keep our deliveries as low-waste as possible. We use recycled materials for our packaging.
All orders within Brighton and Hove are delivered by bike or can be dropped off and picked up from SuperLooper HQ.
We encourage SuperLoopers to reuse our boxes to return their orders. We will reuse packaging wherever possible.
What happens to the clothing that doesn't make it into the SuperLoop?
Wherever possible, any clothes that don’t make the SuperLooper library will be sent to be recycled as part of the service we offer. We can’t promise to keep everything out of landfills and incinerators but we're constantly searching for recycling partners who squeeze the last use out of any garment past its best. Being based in Brighton we’re lucky to have access to clothing collection bins powered by recyclers SOEX in partnership with Brighton Council. We will further improve this area of our service in time.
